A lot of techs quit because of their deep depression. Dealing with cancer is definitely not an easy thing. Just because job responsibility and delivering quality jobs puts a lot of pressure on the techs. In order to survive in these jobs people need to be happy and satisfied with their work. From my experience, people get depressed and stressed a lot when they cannot deliver quality slides. When a company does not offer proper training and coaching to the employee, they end up quitting the job. I am sure a lot of techs feel guilty when they mess up the tissue then doctors have to cut the patient again.
